»The predecessor Friday Night In San Francisco», recorded at the Warfield Theater in San Francisco on January 5th. December 1980 (and first released in 1981), is considered one of the most seminal jazz/instrumental albums of all time. A truly iconic album that transcended a niche audience with its unique blend of jazz, fusion, flamenco and Mediterranean music, performed by three of the most respected and brilliant musicians of all time: Al Di Meola, John McLaughlin and Paco De Lucia (1947 - 2014).
For 40 years no one could have imagined that the recordings of Saturday's show existed... until now! Al Di Meola and his team have meticulously combed through the original 16-track tapes and put together a breathtaking sequel: 'Saturday Night In San Francisco', which features the famous guitar trio's explosive and brilliant final performance at the Warfield Theater on January 6th. Presented in December 1980.
Al Di Meola says of this last evening: 'It's exciting because the audience was right there with us and enjoyed every single note of the music. And we let it rip. It was insanely good!
