Streets: A Rock Opera is the sixth studio album by Savatage and is a rock opera that follows the rise and fall of fictional musician DT Jesus, a drug dealer who rises to become a rock star and becomes an addict himself.
The years around 1990 were certainly the most important for the band, years in which Savatage began to break away from the more conventional and dry metal of the early days and to move towards more complex and emotional shores, which were the result of an absolutely personal way of understanding music. "Streets" is a perfect album, captivating and haunting, characterized by a unique songwriting that can be breathed to the fullest in the sixteen tracks of this album
