VTG Sterling Coral Inlay Ring Heavy Gauge SZ 12 Hummingbird Zuni Amy Quandelacy
Here's a rare and beautiful ring with the very popular "hummingbird" inlay design. The artist used a nearly uniform and rich color of coral gemstones and set them in silver channels for the design (we typically see this design using turquoise; finding a piece like this with coral is unusual). Heavy gauge sterling silver was used for the shank, which flares in a solid fashion to support the ring face.
The ring is a size 12.
The narrowest part of the shank is 3/16" wide.
The ring face is 11/16" by 1" by about 3/16" deep.
It weighs 21.4 g.
The artist's hallmark is a script "Amy" for famous and award winning Zuni silversmith Amy Quandelacy. This ring was likely created in the 1990s.
