A silverplate box for jewelry from the Art Nouveau period. It still has its fabric liner.

The jewelry box has a long oval shape with small bun feet and molded tracery designs on the lid. The handle on the lid is in the shape of a club. The lid has a pin hinge. The interior is lined with pale greenish turquoise fabric.

A stamped mark on the base reads VICTOR SILVER CO QUADRUPLE PLATE. These words encircle a unicorn. The number 6164 is also stamped in the base.

MEASUREMENTS
7 ½ in (19.0 cm) long x 3 in (7.6 cm) deep x 3 in (7.6 cm) tall. Weighs 13.8 oz.

CONDITION
There are no breaks, dents, cracks, or repairs. There is some silver remaining, but it is worn off in many areas. The words Kansas City Missouri 1913 were etched by hand on the lid, and then a name ___ Davies and the date 17/1/1924 were scratched over this less carefully. It is very difficult to make the name out. "1913 and "Kansas City Missiouri" were also etched on the very front.

The fabric liner is worn and stained.

An elegant antique jewelry box to use and have out or to add to a collection.
