Here's a pair of bookends featuring an owl with outstretched wings made by the Pompeian Bronze Works of New York City. Each end measures 4-3/8" tall, span 3-3/4" between wingtips, and are 5-1/4" long. The company's logo is featured on the side of each plinth. There are no breaks or repairs to the metal. I'm not sure, but it appears the owls may have been recoated to a gold color. The original felt on the bottoms is no longer there. A very nice piece of 1920s American art.
