CHORLTON'S GRAPE GROWERS' GUIDE "A Hand-Book of the Cultivation of the Exotic Grape"

by William Chorlton

Known for its precision and clarity, one of the standard guides for American viticulture, first published in 1852 and remaining in print for decades afterwards. This is the "New Edition, with descriptions of later exotic grapes", published in 1883.

The book is in pretty good shape for its 140+ years. The covers show some general wear, mostly at the corners, as well as a little staining, as seen in the photos. The binding is sound. Vintage owner inscription on the first page. The text has occasional soiling but no tears, creases, writing, etc. Certainly a presentable copy of this uncommon collector's item.

Measures 5"X 7.5", 208 pages plus a four-page publisher's catalog, some illustrations.
