A hand embroidered silk from the Chinese Republic Period that was made to looks like a rank badge from Qing dynasty. 

The rectangular black silk has been embroidered with a pair of inverted panels of a golden pheasants flying amid flowers with the sun. A key fret border separates the panels. The backing is green silk. 

MEASUREMENTS

20 ½” long x 10” wide. Weighs 1.3 oz (35 g)

CONDITION

The couched gold threads on the borders are almost all gone and there are loose threads in the central panels. One side is almost totally intact, but the other side, less so. The colors are bright with little fading.
