T»Hours« is David Bowie's 21st album from 1999, released on Virgin. It was his first album for this label and also the first album by a well-known artist that was available to download in its entirety on the Internet two weeks in advance.
Much of the material was created in other versions for the video game 'Omicron: The NomadSoul, in which 2 characters are based on David.
Although it was David Bowie's first studio album since the early 1970s not to reach the top 40 on the US charts, Hours was overall a worldwide success, reaching the top 10 in more than half a dozen countries. At the start of the new millennium, Bowie continued his experiments with an album called Toy planned for 2000, which would contain new versions of some of Bowie's earliest pieces. However, this album was never released, and Bowie turned to a new album of original songs, Heathen, in 2002.
