John Bonham, John Paul Jones, JIMMY Page and Robert Plant came together in 1968 as Led Zeppelin. Over the next decade, the band became one of the most influential, innovative and successful groups in modern music, selling more than 300 million albums worldwide. Their songs are among the most celebrated in rock 'n' roll history and continue to resonate with fans young and old around the world to this day.
“Right from the start, Led Zeppelin was supposed to be a guitar-dominated band: no horns, no keyboards, especially guitar. I played the guitar with a violin bow, with my fingers, I played pedal steel guitar, bottleneck, blues guitar or rock guitar,” says JIMMY Page.
Robert Plant: “My motivation since I was a little boy was to be able to make a living through music. People always assume it was because I wanted to be famous, a rock star - but no: I just wanted to get away from having to do a boring job and do something I was really passionate about - and that's what I did."
