 Without sketching, in the wink of an eye, Hou-Tien Cheng takes ordinary paper and cuts it into images that spark the imagination. Cheng is  the 1976 U.S. Master of Paper Cutting.  Each of these paper cuttings were hand made by the artist with sharp scissors.  (This is not computer designed laser cuts.)

Hou-tien is a renowed Chinese paper cutting artist and author.  He is known for his ability to create intricate designs freehand without sketching. Our paper cuttings were purchased from Cheng Hou-tien at an exhibition at Wheaton Arts in New Jersey sometime in the last 20 years.
