Believe to be from 1800's. It was originally designed for wood or coal stoves. You simply lift with paddles, flip over and sit back on burner for even cooking through out. Opens, shuts and flips easily.. It's a pie shape with low base and embossed lettering and an ornate design. This waffle iron was manufactured in Chester, PA U.S.A. It's painted and in exceptional condition.
It makes a vauable addition to any Antique Cookware collection.
