Item description:
Ceramic cast sculpture, made with kaolin, also known as "soft porcelain," glazed, vitrified, and hand-decorated with an airbrush. It depicts a beautiful lady with a hat in her hand, in the Art Nouveau style. It is unsigned, but the catalog number is present. The sculpture dates back to the early decades of the 20th century, between 1900 and 1930. The piece is unsigned, but its style and, especially, its coloration suggest the Austrian Amphora factory, whose color is the pale blue. This beautiful lady, with soft, diaphanous tones and a hat over her dress, is very reminiscent of the ladies by Michael Powolny for Wiener Keramik or Emil Meier for Goldscheider. In fact, at the bottom of this page, we've included a sculpture by Powolny and one by Emil Meier, both very similar to ours.
Useful information for the evaluation of the object:
In our online research, we found that several sculptures and vases made by the Amphora factory have been estimated at auction from €180-240, with estimates of €3,000-4,000 for the largest and most important vases. We also found a porcelain sculpture of a pair of lovers sold on 1stDibs for over €950, a smaller lady on eBay for €400, and finally a large couple on Pamono for nearly €4,000. This provides a general idea of the importance of this factory.
Information on artist and/or manufacturer:
The Amphora factory was founded in 1892 in the town of Turn-Teplitz, Bohemia, by Riessner, Stellmacher, and Kessel. It specializes in the production of figurines and artistic vases. It boasts numerous auction results and is internationally renowned for the quality of its artistic production.

OUR COMMERCIAL POLICY
Aware that we operate in the eBay market, our prices are often lower than the prices at which very similar objects are offered on other online sales platforms, the prices at which they are offered by art galleries in cities such as Rome, New York or London and also the best auction results achieved by similar objects, which, overall, can give an indication of the value of the object, while lower auction results or sales at low prices, by inexperienced sellers who do not know the real value of the object, should, in our opinion, be considered as a stroke of luck for the buyer rather than an indication of the value of the object. The price we ask is always the lowest possible considering how much was paid for the object and the eBay commissions (for the sale, payment and any currency exchange: from a minimum of 15% to a maximum of 21%, depending on the country in which the object was sold) because we prefer to retain many customers by earning less on the single object, focusing on quantity.

For each object there may be multiple advertisements in different countries: USA, Italy, France, United Kingdom, etc. Any price differences are due only to changes in the exchange rate of the various currencies between when we made the advertisement and when you see it.
