Rare cover proof for the July 1963 issue of THE MAGAZINE OF FANTASY AND SCIENCE FICTION. Cover by ED EMSH illustrating the story GLORY ROAD by ROBERT HEINLEIN. Excellent condition. Unfolded. No tape, no tears. Proof is 5 3/4 x 7 3/4. More than 60 years old but in perfect condition. Was probably from someone's files who worked at F&SF.

Early printed proof of the cover before the magazine title and cover text was added, so this is an early pre-publication version of the cover. Blank on the back. On the same stock as the final magazine cover was. Not one of a kind and not actual original art but few of these were printed for in-house editorial purposes and fewer now remain. I have only ever seen one more of these and that was several years ago.
