This item is an Atlas N Gauge 1:160 Scale BN Burlington Northern SD-60 Diesel Locomotive, 49003, in the original box with instructions. Engine was made in China in 1998, carries cab number 8302, and has AccuMate knuckle couplers. Engine is currently standard DC operation, but is DCC ready. Engine has been run, and has a red wire soldered directly to the sideframe of one of the front trucks, as shown in photo - no idea why that is. Engine has directional lighting, which works but is very faint as shown in photos. In short, back and forth test run, engine didn't want to run, but loosened up with each back and forth. Still makes a noticeable hum and doesn't run 100% smoothly, which may change if the engine is converted to DCC operation. What You See Is What You Get. Engine has sat in its box for quite a while, so could use a thorough cleaning and lube job.  Compatible with all N gauge brands: MTL, Kato, Athearn, Bachmann, Walthers, Deluxe Innovations, Buford Shops.
