Turcite® Sheet: Uses and Specifications
Overview
Turcite® is a low-friction, wear-resistant material made from PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) filled with additives. It is used in precision linear bearing applications and machine tool components. It is available in multiple grades, such as Turcite® A and Turcite® B.
Common Uses
- Machine tool slideways (for improved wear resistance and reduced stick-slip)
- Hydraulic cylinder bearings
- Injection molding machine parts
- Transfer lines and CNC equipment
- Guides, bushings, and wear strips
- Rebuilding worn guide surfaces in mills, lathes, grinders
- Precision linear motion applications
Advantages
- Excellent wear and abrasion resistance
- Extremely low coefficient of friction (dry or lubricated)
- Non-stick and chemical resistant
- Thermal stability and high load-bearing capabilities
- Prevents stick-slip in precision machinery
