Vintage Sugino Tension Disc Rear Wheel - 700c Tubular

A rare Sugino tension disc rear wheel from the 1990s — perfect for collectors or vintage triathlon/time trial enthusiasts.

Rim: Mavic GL330 tubular

Hub: Shimano Dura-Ace (rear)

Size: 700c, tubular rim

This wheel was originally received from a friend.

It was professionally restored once at a specialist shop and is currently in usable condition.

However, it was once left inside a car during the summer, and sunlight through the window caused a slight wrinkle in part of the film.

This is purely cosmetic and has no effect on performance.

The tire was properly inflated and rolled smoothly even on gravel roads, though it had a unique “soft” ride feel, almost like riding with slightly low tire pressure.

Although about 30 years old, the wheel remains functional thanks to the previous restoration.

It’s a very rare model — ideal for shop display, vintage events, or as a collectible for restoration enthusiasts.

It could even look interesting on an MTB, and if you can find a suitable tire size, it should be compatible.

• Only minor wobble, within acceptable limits. It can be easily adjusted if desired and is currently ready to use.

• Considering its age, the film has a few small tears, but the glossy finish remains good.

• The Dura-Ace hub spins smoothly.
