Edward Marshall Boehm
Springer
We offer the Springer sculpted in porcelain from 1949-1959 by Edward Marshall Boehm, (1913-1969). In the 1976 Reese Palley book “The Porcelain Art of Edward Marshall Boehm” the Springer is referenced on page 153.
The Springer is posed in show position and glazed in the white colorway with patches of black.
The Springer is marked "Boehm" in script on the underside of a foot and measures 8" in length, 2 3/8" in width and 6 3/8" in height. The Springer is a larger sculpture and should not be confused with the Cocker Spaniels which are smaller in scale.
The Springer is in pristine condition free of any chips, breaks, cracks or repairs.
An early design, the Springer will be a serious acquisition for a museum or collector of early Boehm touched by the artist's hand.
