This is a trifold or triptych Buddha shrine, a type of portable altar.  It depicts a laughing or happy Buddha also known as Budai or Hotei.  It is hand carved.  It appears to be a well used one but in great shape.  It measures 6 1/2 inches tall and 7 1/2 inches when opened.  It is a very decorative piece.  See the pictures as they are part of the description.
