Donald Fennimore, former curator at Winterthur and nephew of Charles V. "Bud" Swain, expertly catalogued his uncle's important collection of American and British-export pewter in these two, handsome volumes, which were privately published in a limited edition of 200 copies. The collection, formed in the second half of the 1900s, also included most of the items given to Swain by an earlier pewter collector--John F. Ruckman. This is copy 12 of both volumes, inscribed by Charles V. Swain to the former owner. All in all, here's important documentation of one of the finest collections ever assembled of American and English-export pewter of the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. Hardcover, 210pp and 76pp.
