Description

Beautiful matched pair of Chinese cloisonné birds on gilt feet, modeled with open beaks and multicolored featherwork over a turquoise ground. The fine wire cells and vivid enamel palette are characteristic of quality early 20th-century workshops. Symbolically, birds in Chinese decorative arts represent harmony, fidelity, and auspicious fortune.
