With the popularity of larger format tile with fewer grout lines, a high-performance system to keep tile flat from one tile to the next has become essential. The PSC Pro Zin system dramatically simplifies and speeds up the installation. The tile-leveling strap also serves as the spacer up to 1/8" while the ratcheting wedge provides very fast but precise leveling of two adjacent tiles. The special plastic and design of the strap-spacer allows it to be flexed and adjusted as needed without fear of breaking. Tilting the strap-spacer allows easy release of the adjustment wedge so that a leveling point may be readjusted. After the thin-set mortar has cured in the installation, cleanup and removal is a cinch. Light impact from a blunt object like a mallet will break the strap-spacer low in the grout line well below the surface of the tile. The strap-spacer remains are discarded and the wedges saved for another job. Installing grout is all that's needed to finish the job.

   

Note: Ensure grout lines are particularly cleaned up around clips before thin-set mortar sets

   

How to Order:

   

The graphic below shows a typical layout of how the wedge-clip system is used on and between tiles. Notice how most of the wedge-clips are shared between two adjacent tiles. The chart next to it shows the average number of clips consumed per square foot for a particular size tile by first locating the larger dimension located on the 'B' Column and then intersected with the column above the smaller 'A' size located on the 'A' row.

   

The number of wedges you need will correspond to the number of clips you require up to the number of square feet you can install in one day. After installing tile for a day and 24 hours has passed, the wedge-clips will be knocked out with a mallet and the wedges can then be reused for the next round of tile over and over. For example, if you are installing 600 square feet of 12" x 24" tile, you will need 2 clips per square foot = 1200 clips = 12 bags. If you can only install 300 SF of tile in a day, you will only need 300 sf x 2 wedges/SF = 600 wedges or 6 bags of wedges.

   
       

Note 1 - As with all tile-leveling system, excess thin-set mortar in the grout line should be cleaned - with special attention to cleaning where the clip is to ensure proper break-out.

   

Note 2 - Leave the wedges in place and knock out the entire wedge/clip assembly with the mallet to ensure proper snapping out at the base foot under the tile
