To the 50th Anniversary of the debut: "Eric Clapton" reissued
Last year "Eric Clapton", Eric Clapton's Solo Bütalbum, was 50 years old.
"Eric Clapton" originally appeared in August 1970. It represents one of the most successful new findings in rock history. After Clapton turned out to be one of the groundbreaking guitar heroes of the 1960s, the Briton reorganized its musical priorities. The album marks Clapton's transition from an instrumental icon to a versatile singer and musician and laid the foundation for his extremely successful solo career, which continues to this day. To do this, he surrounded himself with a new cast of American musicians and used a musical foundation that offered a new framework for his talents.
In addition to Clapton (vocals, guitar) Rita Coolidge (vocals), Bob Keys (saxophone), Bobby Whitlock (Hammond organ, vocals), Leon Russell (piano), Sonny Curtis (vocals), Jim Gordon (drums), Bonnie Bramlett, Delaney brandy (Rhythm guitar), Carl Radle (bass), Jerry Allison (vocals), John Simon (piano), Stephen Stills (guitar, vocals), Jim Price (trumpet) and Tex Johnson (percussion). The record was recorded in January 1970 in the Village Recorders Studio in West Los Angeles and in March 1970 in the Iceland Studios in London.
The success was great: "Eric Clapton" ended up in 13th place in Great Britain, and 14th place in the USA.
The new Limited Anniversary Deluxe Edition gathers the album in three separates: the Eric Clapton Mix, the Delany Bramett Mix and Tom Dowd Mix (The UK version). The Eric Clapton Mix is published for the first time in full length. This anniversary collection also contains some singles, alternative versions and session outtakes. Vinyl lovers get their money's worth with the vinyl zreissue.
