"The Final Cut" is the twelfth long player from Pink Floyd. The album originally appeared on the 21st March 1983. It is the last studio work with Roger Waters who left the band in December 1985. At the same time, it is the only plate that was not involved in keyboardist Richard Wright.
All twelve songs on "The Final Cut" come from Roger Waters. The bass player and singer devoted the album to his father Eric Fletcher Waters. It bears the subtitle "A Requiem for the Post War Dream".
The album reached sixth in the USA, in Great Britain and Germany it conquered the charts.

The vinyll lovers were longing for this among Pink Floyd fans. The rock legends gradually publish all their albums as LPs. In June 2016 it started with the first four records of the band, gradually further albums followed. The series will continue in 2017, with "The Final Cut".
The songs of the new edition were newly mastered by James Guthrie, Joel Plante and Bernie Grundman. All Reissues of the series appear on 180 g heavy vinyl. Coverartwork is the original design.
