A new edition on black vinyl of the iconic soundtrack to Tron from 1982 by the legendary electronics pioneer and composer Wendy Carlos (The Shining, Clockwork Orange). The music that was the first collaboration between Carlos and her partner Annemarie Franklin contained a mixture of an analog Moog synthesizer and a digital GdS synthesizer as well as non-electronic pieces played by the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Two additional music pieces ("1990's Theme" and "Only Solutions") were contributed by the American band Journey. This is the first re-publication of the black 18-track 1-LP vinyl. The 40th anniversary of the Tron franchise is celebrated in 2022. The original film tells the story of computer engineer Kevin Flynn, who finds out that a manager of his company has stolen his work. Flynn tries to chop into the system, but is instead transferred to The Grid's digital world, where he has to fight Sark and the impressive Master Control Program. With the help of Tron (a security program) and Yori, Flynn becomes a freedom fighter for the oppressed programs of the grid. The soundtrack perfectly captures the geometrically intensive landscapes of cyberspace and virtual gladiator computer game.
