Uprising was Bob Marley's last album, which was released during his lifetime. The day when it is on 10 June 1980 came to the shops, Marley and the Wailers opened for Fleetwood Mac in the 69,000 spectator in Munich.

Whether Marley suspected that his time was going while he wrote Uprising or not, his last musical statement was an album with an incredible emotional response. Similar to "Survival", "Uprising" was a profound and serious collection of songs that researched the topics of sin and redemption with fire and sulfur.

Recorded in Dynamics Studio in a bleak industrial area near Trench Town, Uprising was the tenth album of the band for Island Records and was produced by Marley and the Wailers under the firm guidance of Chris Blackwell. When Marley Blackwell presented the songs for the first time, which he wanted to put on the album, Blackwell advised him to add a few uppo numbers to restore the balance of the many slow and serious songs. Marley undertook with "Could You Be Loved" - which became the greatest hit of the album - and "Coming in From The Cold", a happy, optimistic piece that was chosen as the opening track.

But the song that really defined Uprising and became a suitable elegy in the largest reggae star that the world has ever seen was the final song "Redemption Song". A simple ballad that Marley was only accompanied by his own acoustic guitar was a song and performance that he had never taken before. The simple arrangement - so simple that it is not actually recognizable as a reggae song - was developed with the support of the clever Blackwell. And the words opened a window into the singer's soul.

To his 75th BOB MARLEY is re -published by twelve titles. The audio was newly mastered with the Half-Speed method of Abbey Road Studios. The titles include the best-selling reggae album "Legend" and "Catch a Fire", which was originally recorded by The Wailers in Jamaica.
