Rock stories from the small town
Surprise: The Killers will publish her new, seventh studio album in August 2021. "Pressure Machine" is the successor of her number one album "Imploding the Mirage", which the American rock heroes had only released in 2020. As with many other artists, the Corona pandemic ensured that the band suddenly had a lot of time to write new music. And use it well. The Killers began to deal with her art and pack the frustration into music.
Flowers describes his emotional state and the new sound as follows: »It was the first time in a long time for me that I was confronted with silence. And from this silence this plate began to bloom, full of songs that would otherwise have been too quiet and would have been drowned out by the noise of typical killers plates. «
In fact, "Pressure Machine" is the most reserved and sonorous album in the band, which deals with their home ties and growing up musically in a lonely place in southern America: the small town of Nephi, in which Flowers spent his youth: »Many memories of my time in Nephi are tender. But those who were associated with fear or great sadness were emotionally charged. I now have more understanding than when we founded the band, and hopefully I could do justice to this stories and life in this small city in which I grew up, ”said the singer.
The album was produced by the band, Shawn Everett and Jonathan Rado Co-, who had already worked on the last Killers plate. There should also be a duet with the singer-songwriter Phoebe Bridgers on "Pressure Machine".
The Killers was founded in 2001. After a number of early cast changes, the band has consisted of Brandon Flowers (vocals, keyboard, bass), Dave Brent Keuning (lead guitar), Ronnie Vannucci Jr. (drums, percussion) and Mark Stoermer (bass, rhythm guitar, background vocals). By 2020, they published six studio albums, all of whom reached the charts in Great Britain. 2021 now comes album number seven: "Pressure Machine".
