Description: A copper-plate engraved original antique road map. From the first edition of Taylor and Skinner's 'Maps of the Roads of Ireland', it is printed on both sides, it includes details of topography, notable residences and place names. The route passes through several settlements including:
Plate 243 - Mullingar, Athlone
Plate 244 - Mullingar, Trim

Provenance: 'Taylor and Skinner's Maps of the Roads of Ireland, Surveyed 1777. Published for the Authors as the Act directs 14th Novr 1778'. N.B. First edition.
Condition: Good condition. Light age toning and handling marks. NB. Discolouration/stain to the bottom half of the sheet on both sides. Please study all the photographs carefully to fully appreciate the condition.
Authenticity: this is an authentic item, published at the date stated in the title and accompanying description. Where an exact date is not known, the item is dated as circa (c.), e.g. c.1650. This indicates that it may have been printed/published a few years either side of the specified year.
