I have been in Numismatics for many years & was part of the Wayne County Coin Club when it was still around.  Many years ago we met JT Stanton at a large Coin Convention in Charlotte, NC, if I remember right, & Barry, who was our president at the time was able to get JT to come up to numerous club meetings & to some of our coin shows.

I was & still am, into cherry picking, mainly for silver coins.  However, I still like looking for certain clad coin varieties as well.  With that said, I cherry picked a 1970 S Washington proof quarter off of Ebay many years ago that ended up being a 1970 S FS-801 DDR 1-R-V; & that I ended up trading to JT Stanton when he was at one of our coin shows, one of the last ones shows, in fact.  He told me that he never came across that particular error, & as far as I know, he never found any while he was still alive.  He did find a 1970 S DDO which he sold on his Ebay store.  If I remember right, he told me he had looked through thousands of 1970 S proof sets, but never found one.   In fact, when I showed him the coin  which I am offering, he was very excited, overwhelmingly excited, when he looked at it through his loop, & told me he had to have it, so that is part of why I let it go.  There were other reasons too, one being that the coin would be in his next Cherry Pickers book that he collaborated with others on.  Months later I ended up having sellers/traders remorse & asked if I could trade it back for some varietes I found over the years, which he did.  He told me he was thinking about selling it when I had asked.

When I got the quarter back, I sent it & some other coins to Anacs through our coin club along with a copy of the label he sent back with the coin.  I still have the original label he included with the coin, along with all the pictures he took of the coin.  The same pictures that are in the Cherry Pickers book, which I am sure can be verified.  It is graded Proof 66.  Everything will be included, the pictures, the original label & the coin of course :),

If you purchase this coin, It will be shipped registered which means you will have to sign for it, possibly having to go to the Post Office itself, but I am not shipping it any other way.  I am also not selling to anyone outside the 48 continental US or to anyone that is not verified &/or been an Ebay member for many years.  Thanks for your time & if you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

I may be willing to do a partial trade in silver/gold, but only from known bullion trade companies.  Just email me if you have a good offer :)
