It's very heavy, so the chain attaching to the hook is brass plated steel (adjustable drop height by removing chain links).
The glass shades are 2 sets of 4 that complement each other well: the larger ones have urns with flowers and the smaller ones have fleur de lis with a torch and wreath pattern. All of the shades are 8 sided with scalloped / fluted tops so that their shapes are the same. The smaller shades have a beaded top edge. Altogether, a gorgeous, eye-catching set!
