Original 1970s student portfolio artwork, thought to be by Paul Piggott (c.1977). Bold collage and typographic design inspired by London Underground poster art, with a striking paper-bird motif and vivid red “Zoo 78 Regent’s Park” lettering.

This is a one-off piece from a student portfolio — not a reproduction poster — created by hand using cut photography, collage and applied lettering. It shows the kind of experimental graphic style being developed in the 1970s, blending modernist typography with playful surrealism.

Condition: As expected for a 1970s student work, the piece shows some uneven edges, handling wear and visible joins where the collage was constructed. It has been mounted in a later white frame with glazing, ready to hang. Please see photos — reflections from the plastic make it tricky to capture, but the artwork itself presents well.

the frame is a plastic clip frame to keep piece in place

Approx size 62 cm x 42 cm

A rare and authentic example of student graphic design from the period — decorative, unusual, and with the kind of originality collectors of London Underground and Brutalist-era design look for.
