Radio shows were first syndicated on reel to reel tape, later on LP stereo discs, then CD's and now digitally. Collectors can no longer get their hands on this quality material so the surviving shows that are available will keep going up and up in value. These radio shows were never intended for public use & most were destroyed or returned to the manufacturer after use, so they're very difficult to find.


"On Tour" was a one hour radio special from Media America with episodes airing between 1990 - 1992.  On Tour features music & interviews with artists that were touring to support their current project at that time.  Produced by Dan Neer (Neer Perfect Productions), this program was similar to "Up Close”, but with a focus on the artists current tour.  The series only featured twelve episodes in total.  Other artists featured included Billy Joel, The Black Crowes, The Allman Brothers, Bonnie Raitt, Bon Jovi, Robert Plant, Santana, Genesis, Phil Collins & Heart.

The early episodes were sent to radio in a custom jewel case with a unique back insert  made specifically for this series.  Later episodes were sent to radio in a plain cd envelope.  Sadly, there is very little information available on this series, and distribution was extremely limited.  I was told that less than 50 copies of this show were sent to radio for broadcast (and who knows how many are still in existence today, over 30 + years later).  As a result - these few episodes are rarer than most other radio programs of that time.

This episode features interviews with Derek Smalls, David St. Hubbins and Nigel Tufnel of Spinal Tap and was broadcast in support of the tour supporting their 'Break Like The Wind' album.  This is the actual transcription disc sent to the radio stations for airplay.  Tracks in this one hour program are as follows:
