The core of an Eisenhower dollar is pure copper. The outer layers on the obverse and reverse 75% copper and 25% nickel. An Eisenhower dollar is 91.67% copper. Each Eisenhower dollar has 0.7334 ounces of copper! That is just less than 3/4 ounce of copper in each coin. The price of copper increased 41% between July 2024 and July 2025.
