c. 1930s; Dobbins Manufacturing Co. - St. Paul, Minnesota
Early hand-operated dust sprayer branded as the Superbilt Duster, finished in green paint with remnants of its original yellow label. The cylindrical chamber, fitted with a side handle and wooden grip plunger, is attached to a long curved spout for distributing powdered insecticide or dusting agents. Ruggedly built for farm or household use, its steel body reflects Depression-era agricultural ingenuity.
Patented in 1937 by Henry E. Brandt, this device was manufactured and marketed by Dobbins Manufacturing of St. Paul. Brandt, associated with the company, developed a series of practical dusting and spraying implements that found wide adoption among farmers, gardeners, and orchardists for pest control and crop treatment.
Condition shows moderate wear: flaking to painted finish, near 100% loss of the original label, and scattered surface abrasions. Handle and plunger remain intact, preserving its industrial and agricultural character.
