TOOLS REQUIRED

• Plastic trim removal tool
• Microfiber towel
• Rubbing alcohol or surface prep cleaner
• Masking tape
• 10mm socket (if panel removal needed)
• Wire tap connector or T-tap
• Test light or multimeter (recommended)

BEFORE YOU START

✔ Ensure vehicle is parked on level surface
✔ Turn vehicle OFF
✔ Clean installation area thoroughly
✔ Dry surface completely
✔ Test LED function before installation

STEP-BY-STEP INSTALLATION

STEP 1 – REMOVE FACTORY EMBLEM

1. Use a plastic trim tool to gently lift the edge of the factory rear emblem.
2. Slowly work around the emblem until adhesive releases.
3. Remove any remaining adhesive residue using alcohol or adhesive remover.
4. Clean surface completely and allow to dry.

TIP: Warm emblem slightly with a hair dryer to loosen adhesive if needed.

STEP 2 – TEST LED EMBLEM

1. Connect LED wires to a 12V power source temporarily.
2. Confirm LED illumination works properly before mounting.

STEP 3 – POSITION NEW EMBLEM

1. Hold LED emblem in place to confirm fitment.
2. Use masking tape to mark alignment if desired.
3. Ensure emblem sits level and centered.

IMPORTANT: Do not remove adhesive backing until alignment is confirmed.

STEP 4 – MOUNT EMBLEM

1. Peel protective backing from 3M adhesive.
2. Carefully place emblem onto tailgate surface.
3. Apply firm, even pressure for 30–60 seconds.
4. Allow adhesive to bond for 15 minutes before driving.

Recommended: Avoid washing vehicle for 24 hours.

STEP 5 – ROUTE WIRING

1. Route LED wiring through existing tailgate gap or factory grommet.
2. Secure wire using zip ties away from moving parts.
3. Ensure wire will not be pinched when tailgate opens or closes.

STEP 6 – CONNECT POWER

Most customers connect to tail light running light circuit so emblem illuminates with parking lights.

Typical wiring:

• RED wire → running light positive (+)
• BLACK wire → ground (-)

Use a wire tap connector or splice connection.

Test lights before finalizing wiring.

STEP 7 – FINAL TEST

1. Turn vehicle lights ON.
2. Confirm LED emblem illuminates evenly.
3. Check wire security and tailgate operation.

IMPORTANT NOTES

• Professional installation recommended if unfamiliar with vehicle wiring.
• Do not power LED directly to battery without inline fuse.
• Ensure wiring is secured away from heat and moving parts.
• Adhesive reaches full strength after 24 hours.
• Product is aftermarket and not OEM.
