Original Confederate States of America $5 note, dated December 2, 1862, issued from Richmond, Virginia. This is the T-60 type, featuring a detailed vignette of the Confederate Capitol at Richmond at center, along with a portrait of C.S.A. Secretary of the Treasury Christopher Memminger at lower right.
This example is in very nice collectible condition with strong details, clean surfaces, and solid paper quality. The back design shows striking blue ink with large “5” numerals and ornate engraving, one of the most attractive reverse designs of the Confederate series.
