This is an authentic hand-woven Turkish Anatolian kilim dating to the mid-20th century, featuring a bold double-medallion tribal design in deep red, black, soft blues, sage greens, and warm earth tones.
The rug is woven entirely from wool using the traditional slit-tapestry flatweave technique, which produces a fully reversible kilim with the design appearing the same on both sides. This is a hallmark of genuine Anatolian weaving and is not found in modern printed or backed rugs.
The dyes remain rich and vibrant with no fading or staining. The central field is clean and intact with no holes. There are areas of wear and partial edge separation along portions of the border, visible in the photographs, which are typical for vintage tribal kilims of this age and add to the character of the piece.
Because this is a true flatweave, it is lightweight and slippery on smooth flooring and would benefit from a rug pad if used on a hard surface. It also works beautifully as a wall hanging.
Approximate dimensions are 70 inches long by 48 inches wide.
This is a genuine vintage Anatolian kilim — not a modern reproduction — and would make a beautiful addition to a bohemian, southwestern, or global-inspired interior.
