RUSSIAN MILITARY 6N6P with "OTK" codes.

These tubes were manufactured by the FOTON, Russia Military Factory.

VERY LIMITED AVAILABILITY DUE TO UKRAINE / RUSSIAN SANCTIONS CRISIS U.S. IMPORT BAN, AND SUPPLY-CHAIN DISRUPTIONS.

"Foton" specialized in the design and manufacture of electronic equipment for use in electronic equipment for various purposes. The company is the largest manufacturer of electronic equipment in Uzbekistan and one of the largest in the USSR.

Plant "Foton" was created in 1941 on the basis evacuated plant electronic devices from Fryazino, Moscow region. Since 1942, the plant began production in Tashkent - electronic generator and amplifier tubes.

In 1964, the technology company has been totally redesigned . The company was to develop semiconductors (diodes, transistors), and subsequently integrated circuits. Virtually all developed semiconductor devices and integrated circuits have been mastered and mass produced (some of them serially produced and currently ) of inc." Foton" and by the "Integrator".

In several areas of scientific and production activity, the company was in the lead industry. The main thrust of development - semiconductors and integrated circuits for machinery.

The enterprise had its own production, intended for the production of pilot batches of developed products, as well as for the production of the most complex products.

After 1991, the need for development declined sharply. In these circumstances, the emphasis was placed on the production side of the business. Since 1994, maintaining the previous specialization transitioning production to electronic and electronic products with a complete production cycle. While commercial production of electronic cash registers, black-and-white and color televisions, energy saving lamps, transformers, diode cascade.

In December 1995, the company was transformed into a corporation.

These specimens are the "Best of the Best" selected for matched mA & GM within the pair.

Most bargin-priced 6N6P tubes we see suffer from Heater-to-Cathode Leaks, so you get what you pay for. We have weeded-out any tubes with H-to-K leaks.

There is no "real" substitute, not ECC99 and not E182CC! Close but not identical.

Unique in their electrical design they share no replacement tube in the US or European numbering system.

E
xcellent as a driver for power tubes like 845, 300B, or 6C33C.

Users should immediately give 6N6P a try without any other circuit modifications. You will be surprised in the improvement in sound.

..."I am starting to wrap up my own power tube testing on my Little Dot LD MkII. It took me some time since the tube was so clear sounding with the gold grid 6N6P tube. ..."The gold grid 6N6P power tube is punchier and more dynamic sounding than my standard Russian 6N6P tube.  Both have good tonal range. The standard OTK 5 Russian 6N6P tube is a more relaxed and just a bit softer sounding tube than the gold grid Russian 6N6P. Both tubes are good, but the gold grid 6N6P tubes are hard to find. Both power tubes have great synergy with the EF91 CV4014 driver tube.

On the other hand, the Sovtek 6H30 power tube is awful sounding. It was very thin sounding and had very little bass compared to the previous two tubes that I mentioned above.  The EF91 GEC tube, which is just a bit brighter from neutral, just makes matters worse with the Sovtek 6H30. The synergy was not there."...

CHOOSE WISELY!

IN A WAY THAT SHOWS EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND GOOD JUDGEMENT.
Most all bargin-priced 6N6P tubes we see suffer from Heater-to-Cathode Leaks! Ouch!
Question? Which Version Should I Buy? 6N6P or 6N6P-I
Choose Wisely with our 6N6P, and not the I-version.
The 6N6P-I is a Bad choice because they are NOT made for audio and only have a 500 hour life.
The ones you get from us, (plain 6N6P) ARE made only for Audio, and have a 2000 hour life.

....."I" version is for pulse operation - and also it is 500 hours variation of the tube.... the one without the "I" is the one that can be used 2000 hours....
it seems that "I" one is no good for me.... to bad.... i will play with it when i catch the time - to see if those two will be good in line... and in future i will try to find only plain 6N6P versions......

....The I variant is for impulse operation so it's curves indicate positive grid voltages. Because of this it is also not tested for microphonics and noise as these parameters are of no importance for audio .... ( they are made as a pulse tube, and not tested at the factory for noise, because they are not made for audio.)
