WIND AND UNWIND SPRINGS – The pair of torsion spring winding rods are specifically designed for increasing (winding) and decreasing (unwinding) the tension on residential garage door torsion springs.
MUST HAVE TOOL – GD 52238 Torsion Spring Winding Rods is the only tool recommended to make torsion spring adjustments to balance the weight of a garage door. Failure to use these rods when replacing or adjusting torsion springs may result in personal injury and property damage.
SAFETY FIRST – Steel torsion rods allow you to safely perform torsion spring replacements and adjustments without worrying about keeping the spring tension under control. When adjusting or replacing garage door torsion springs, it is extremely important that these tasks are not attempted with any tools other than these rods.
DIMENSIONS – Garage door torsion spring winding rods are 1/2” in outside diameter and 16” long. They are designed to industry standard for residential garage door use.
WINDING CONES USAGE - Winding cones should be wound and unwound 1/4 turn at a time. Torsion spring rods are not for use on winding cones larger than 33/64 inch in diameter.
