Item description:
A stunning, cased blown glass vase in the shape of a chalice or cup, crafted with two layers of glass: one orange and one white for the cup, and a dark red for the stem. The matte finish is achieved by treating the glass with acid. Made by Carlo Moretti, a renowned Murano artist, circa 1960. The vase's shape is exquisite, and the beautiful color nuances are noteworthy, ranging from the dark red of the stem to a darker orange at the bottom of the cup, gradually brightening toward the mouth of the cup, where the white glass inside captures more light, illuminating the orange glass outside.
Useful information for the evaluation of the object:
From our online research, we know that Carlo Moretti boasts significant auction results, the four highest of which found on Art Price, ranging from over €9,000 to €14,493 (over €18,000 including fees) for a lot of vases and glasses sold at Christie's New York, USA, in the "DECORATIVE ARTS EUROPE" auction on October 18, 2012, lot number 447, titled "Calici da Collezione" Decanters & Flutes (1990/2012)." We then found a single vase, which sold for €4,400, excluding 25-30% buyer's premium, at Della Rocca in Turin, Italy, in the "Vetri di Murano" auction on December 21, 2020, lot no. 737, titled "Vaso della serie Mille Molature (1984)." Finally, we found another vase, which sold for over €3,000, excluding buyer's premium, at Christie's in London, UK, in the "MODERN DESIGN" auction on October 20, 1999, lot no. 75, titled "Applique Vase (c. 1975)." Finally, we found a vase with a very similar shape to ours, listed for €180-200, at Trionfante Casa d'Aste s.r.l. from Palermo, Italy, at the "Design" auction on October 17, 2020, lot no. 1047 "Collectible Glass (1980)", we are talking about a vase made with a single, shiny, single-color glass with a yellowish hue. Ours, however, is opaque, so it was treated with acid and coated with white glass on the inside, a much more complex process and therefore more valuable than the one up for auction. Furthermore, the Trionfante auction house, which listed the vase, is a Sicilian-based auction house known for its low prices, which attracts a greater number of bidders. (By Googling the data for the items we provide, especially the title of the auction or sale listing in the same language as ours, the date, the lot number, and the auction house or the name of the sales website, you will, in most cases, be able to find and view the items mentioned.)

OUR COMMERCIAL POLICY
Aware that we operate in the eBay market, our prices are often lower than the prices at which very similar objects are offered on other online sales platforms, the prices at which they are offered by art galleries in cities such as Rome, New York or London and also the best auction results achieved by similar objects, which, overall, can give an indication of the value of the object, while lower auction results or sales at low prices, by inexperienced sellers who do not know the real value of the object, should, in our opinion, be considered as a stroke of luck for the buyer rather than an indication of the value of the object. The price we ask is always the lowest possible considering how much was paid for the object and the eBay commissions (for the sale, payment and any currency exchange: from a minimum of 15% to a maximum of 21%, depending on the country in which the object was sold) because we prefer to retain many customers by earning less on the single object, focusing on quantity.

For each object there may be multiple advertisements in different countries: USA, Italy, France, United Kingdom, etc. Any price differences are due only to changes in the exchange rate of the various currencies between when we made the advertisement and when you see it.

OUR SHIPMENTS:
.Our shipments cost a little more than the average, but they are all shipments with professional packaging. Double box with a lot of bubble wrap around the object and a lot of soft material in the large cavities on all sides between the two boxes. This means that the package is much larger and heavier and therefore the cost of shipping increases, not to mention all the work necessary to carry out a similar packaging and the cost of the various materials used.
