This is an interesting bound volume containing three
children’s book, all undated, but all with written inscriptions dated 1847,
bound in an old quarter leather binding, just under 7 inches tall.
The first work is The History of the House that Jack Built, bound
without the original covers, and opens onto the title page, all pages printed
on one side only, with original hand colouring to the illustrations, pages not
numbered, but all pages of this publication are pictured
The second work is Grandmamma’s Book of Rhymes for the
Nursery, this is bound without the title page, illustrated, running to 46 pages
The third work is a chapbook bound with its original covers,
History of Little Dame Crump and Her Little White Pig, this runs to 8 pages and
all are pictured.
CONDITION
The binding is worn at edges, with splits along spine, with
some loss to spine covering, internally creasing wear on and off throughout,
damage to lower page corners throughout, short edge tear to one page with no
loss (pictured) marking and browning to some pages, most noticeably to Grandmamma’s
Book of Rhymes for the Nursery, this book bound without its title page as
previously mentioned, else in acceptable condition.
