The German Hutschenreuther factory was founded in 1814 in Hohenberg, Bavaria, and is still active today. Since 2000, it has been owned by Rosenthal, another famous German manufacturer. The piece was created by Karl Tutter (1883-1969), an Austro-German sculptor, painter, and porcelain maker, who collaborated with Hutschenreuther for many years, becoming one of its most important and leading exponents.
