2024 or 2025 Harvest?
Yes, these are from the 2024 harvest.

New Mexico Pinon are "two needle" pinus edulis pine nuts. They are a little smaller, dense and nutty, and very flavorful. They only seed every 4 years. The next harvest will be 2028.

The soft shells found in Nevada, Arizona, California and Utah, are "single needle" pinus monophylla, and they seed every year. These are a little larger, more pithy, and a lot less flavorful.

People like both types, but we feel that ours are much better.

We keep ours in a cool, dry storage facility. The nuts keep very well.

The 2024 Piñon Harvest has begun! Can you taste them already?

Piñons are known as the royal gem of nuts. We all know them as one of the most nostalgic snacks of the South West. They are rare, tangy, sweet and so important to many cookie, pie and dessert recipes.

The piñon tree of New Mexico and Arizona produce piñon nuts every 4 years for only a short window of time! For the next 100 days, local harvesters will be gathering and selling, and we will be buying and delivering to you...

Sometimes people call these nuts Pinyons, Pignolias, Pinolis or Pinus edulis seeds. They are from the high desert Piñon pine trees of Arizona and New Mexico. These are not the Afghan, Siberian or Pakistani pine nut, or the less flavorful "soft shell" pine nut from Utah, Nevada and California.
