Product Introduction The F-4 jet fighter, developed as the US Navy's first all-weather twin-engine carrier-based fighter, was adopted by the Air Force as the F-4C, following the B-type, which was deployed on carriers in 1961, with the electronics/bombing system modified to Air Force standards. Deployment began in 1964, and the aircraft was stationed in South Vietnam and Thailand in April 1965 for the purpose of sweeping up MiG fighters. The F-4D has an updated radar and bombing control system compared to the C-type, improving the detection system for low-altitude targets and the bombing accuracy. The so-called Vietnam camouflage became the standard paint from the production stage onwards, starting with the D-type. The markings of the aircraft that became an ace for shooting down MiGs during the Vietnam War and the aircraft flown by Colonel Chuck Yeager, commander of the 4th Tactical Fighter Wing (4TFW) at the time, are reproduced with decals. The first limited special edition comes with a plastic pilot figure (designed and molded by Tamiya). *This product is a plastic model that requires assembly and painting. *Separate adhesives, tools, paints, etc. are required for assembly and painting. * "Plastic model" is a registered trademark of the Japan Plastic Model Industrial Cooperative Association.
