Then these are likely the seals you're after. The main seal responsible for a loose steam wand and leaks at the ball joint is the inner seal shown in the ad photos. This seal sits on the teflon ball joint fitting and creates a seal between the steam wand/water tap assembly and the steam wand itself. Over time, scale can build up inside the assembly and form a jagged crust that can damage the seal as the teflon fitting pushes up against it whenever you move the steam wand. Once this seal breaks, the teflon fitting is no longer held in place securely and becomes loose, allowing for steam to condense and leak out and the wand to loosen and not hold it's position well.

Or, your machine may have just been missing one straight from the factory. This has happened.
