INTRODUCTION
The present compilation is being issued as a part of what will be a regular updating of Dr. Ernest Livneh's and Judith Romney Wegner's earlier bibliographies. The previous bibliographies were enthusiastically received as providing valuable research tools for those Israeli lawyers and scholars conversant in European lan-guages, as well as for foreign lawyers, researchers, and scholars unversed in Hebrew but desirous of information on the laws of the State of Israel. Writings on Israeli law in European languages have grown prodigiously both in Israel and abroad, as the current compilation indicates. The present volume - covering roughly the seven year period 1972-1978 - has approximately 50 per cent of the total number of entries of the previous volume which covered the entire first 24 years of Israel's statehood.

The 1979 Supplement is offered as a supplement to the 1972
Wegner bibliography which was a compilation of all previous works. The classification has been maintained with but few changes, the latter reflecting the growth of the law as well as the interests and problems of the State. The section on Public Law has been lengthened by the addition of Environmental Law, an indication of Israel's increasing awareness of the problems of modern nation-states. Under Public International Law, the section on Legal Aspects of the Arab-Israeli Conflict has been subdivided into "General," "Prisioners of War," "Administered Areas," and
"Terrorism." The only deletion is that of the "Eichmann Trial", a category which is now of historical interest.

The current issuance covers all significant and available works on the subjects listed, but as the previous compilers have noted in their introductions, the best effort unfortunately produces errors of omission and even of commission. We too, must apologize in advance for whatever deletions or errors may have occurred and invite notification of such to the Harry Sacher Institute for Legislative and Comparative Studies. Subsequent editions will, as in the past, include such entries.

In a work of this sort, acknowledgements are always myriad to those who assisted and guided us through unfamiliar libraries and
through the technicalities of publishing. To them and all those who assisted and guided us with secretarial and proofreading chores, we owe thanks for timely issuance of this volume.
