Maxfield Parrish, 1870-1966, was a well known turn of the century artist of children’s art and posters. His later works involved art for calendars, greeting cards, and commercial advertising. He was a popular artist of his time, “capable of meeting the demands of art for mass consumption”.  His work is “rich in fantasy and good humor”.
