It's that time of year again, when I do a clean out of all my excess jewelry I've collected over the past year. I In the process of acquiring vintage jewelry at auctions, estate sales, thrift stores, etcetera, I end up with a lot of vintage fashion jewelry. This lot consists of 6 beaded tribal style necklaces. The lengths range from choker, to collar, and mid length beaded necklaces. These are made from a variety of materials, including stone or some concrete-like plaster, glass, ceramic, wood, resin, metal, and cord. The necklaces feature lovely colors such as turquoise, amber, tan, and cherry red. Some of the necklaces are beaded onto cords and others on string. I think the longer red and black beaded necklace may be a piece by Avon, but I'm not 100% sure. The others are unbranded. The turquoise blue stone choker, with the three round stones, came from a collection of vintage Egyptian Revival and ethnic style jewelry, all from the same collector, who was a doctor. This collection had included items from Hattie Carnegie, Metropolitan Museum of Art, D'Orlan, Trifari, Sphinx, and Diorio's and more, and was a very, very nice collection. I don't know from where she obtained this necklace, but given the quality of the other pieces, there's a good chance this piece was a pricey item. It wouldn't surprise me if it turned out to also be an MMA item. The longer blue turquoise necklace is made of mostly wooden beads, as is the tan wooden bead choker. The amber choker with the single, large oval amber bead is made of glass, I think. It looks very much like glass and is heavy. It's a large bead, measuring 1.75 inches in length and 1.25 inches in width. My favorite necklace in this lot is the red bead, cord choker. At the center of this necklace is a red ceramic bead with an ethnic design, maybe Southwestern in influence. Both this necklace, and the blue stone necklace, which is my other favorite, are accented with unique, metal disk-style beads, which are beaded in layers. I encourage viewers to use the zoom feature to study this detail, as it is really lovely. Necklace lengths are as follows from shortest to longest: Red ceramic - 15.5 inches, amber oval bead - 15.5 inches, tan wooden bead multi-cord - 16.5 inches, turquoise-colored 3 stone-like bead - 17.5, red and black resin bead necklace (possibly Avon) - 23.5 inches, and the turquoise wooden and metal bead necklace - 25.5 inches. These necklaces are all vintage. I estimate each was made at some point between the 1960s through the 1980s or possibly 1990s.
I will do my very best to pack everything carefully so that it arrives safely, but should a stone fall loose or a string break in route, restringing or resetting is up to the new owner. Like I said, I will do my best to make sure this doesn't happen, but some things are beyond my control.  I'm trying to declutter and therefore will not be accepting returns on these vintage lots so please look at the pictures carefully and use the zoom as this is part of the description. I would be happy to answer any questions you might have, but please ask before bidding.
