Single Car #1026 -  Lionel 2-Car Pack C - SKU: 2427570

This is a stunning reproduction of the PULLMAN's ornate passenger car of the 1880 to 1890 Era when railway cars were known as ‘Palace Cars’ fitted with luxury upholstered seating, exotic wood veneer cabinetry, brass chandeliers, decorative railings and roof brackets.  These cars had semi-vestibules at each end with flexible tubular diaphragms.  This innovation provided passengers with a safe and weather-tight passageway between moving rail cars. By the end of the 1890’s most new passenger cars were built with larger vestibules known as Full-Vestibules.

The B&O Royal Blue Train provided luxury express train service between Washington DC to New York City.  The train traveled through the states of Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. This passenger coach features the ‘Coat of Arms’ emblem for the State of Pennsylvania. The emblem has rearing horses each side of the state crest with a perched eagle.
