1) Circa 1920 FIVE boxes (5 Blades per box = 25 Blades) Griffon Cutlery Works Angle Safety Corn Parer Carbo-Magnetic forged steel blades.

*****Please note: the blade on the ruler is to show its size! These are much smaller than the standard size blade!!!! They are for your corns and calluses. Also the magnet is not included in the auction, it is only being used to show they are magnetic as described. The last four pictures of the Griffon Advertisements and the yellow box are for INFORMATIONAL purposes only and not part of this auction***** 

(If you are a collector of the big yellow Griffon box which the blades come in I have it listed in another auction with two single/loose blades) This auction the boxes are tiny, just big enough for the blades as you can see in several pictures.

Rare: From my research on Worthpoint only 5 Griffon Cutlery Works Angle Safety Corn Parer RAZORS (handles were made of nickel) have been sold on eBay in the last 10 years, two of which had a blade on them. I have found no record of the blades themselves being sold alone on eBay. As far as the "bigger" boxes (I have in another auction), I have found only one "bigger" box (not tins) that was sold for one of their folding knives 17 years ago.

The following information is a small glimpse about Griffon Cutlery Works I gathered online:

• Founded in 1888 by Albert L. Silberstein (1866-1935) born in Prussia, whose family brought him to the United States from Germany when he was three years old.
• The company was originally located in NYC on Broadway until 1915, then moved to 74-76 Fifth Ave, then 151 West 19th Street in 1920. 
• In 1940’s they changed their name to Griffon Cutlery Corp. 
• In 1968 they left NYC for Inwood, NY & was acquired by Cole National Corporation in 1969 & kept a showroom at 385 5th Ave. into the 1970’s.
• They had a factory & branch outlet in Solingen, Germany, where most of their razors & shears were manufactured. They manufactured razors (including corn/callus parer), nail files, various types of scissors & shears, tweezers, pushers & blackhead removers.
• Albert introduced the “Carbo-Magnetic” blade in May 1895 & had it trademarked on June 23, 1905. He explained that “Fire heat is never uniform; electricity can be exactly measured & regulated as desired. That is why the electric tempering of the Carbo-Magnetic Razor Blade is absolutely uniform from end to end”.

The blades in my auction are NOS & have some oxidation of which I have read that there are several ways to clean them, if that is what you choose to do.
