The Simmons Hardware Company was a manufacturer and wholesaler of a full line of hardware tools, including edged tools and razors.  The company operated throughout the United States on a wholesale only basis.  They marketed their tools through dozens of brand names.

Scales are a black with tight pivot pins in good condition.  

  The blade is heavier and thicker than most of the German blades of the period.

The blade moves smoothly and centers with a clean, sure movement.

No rust or pits on the cutting edge.

No cracks or chips on the blade.  Light scratches consistent with light use.  Spine has hone marks.
